If you're anything like us, you're always looking ahead! Whether you're as stressed out as your first day of middle school about Q4 sales or you're still in summer-mode + sipping a cocktail in the sun, here are some thought-starters for your next fall marketing campaign!

Put together a fall bundle - From cozy bedding sets to tailgating essentials to cold weather air quality supplies, what are some new + exciting product combos you could put together? Take a cue from the gift-subscription services that are blowing up right now + craft your own must-have fall bundle!

Launch an Instagram photo contest - Fall decorating trends are no-joke. From rich jewel tones to the modern rustic aesthetic, HGTV's preview of fall design trends is sure to inspire. Pick a trend that aligns with your brand + let your fans do the work! Choose the perfect brand hashtag for fans to use when they post photos of your products in their fall-inspired homes + watch your brand awareness, reach + engagement grow! Send a gift to the winner(s) to generate even more excitement + goodwill!

Plan a party - Work with some retailers to host an in-store event like a cooking or mixology demo, influencer party, fall DIY project class, etc. Feature your newest products, or promote your seasonal lineup in a fun + engaging way. Work with your retailers to promote the events, then leverage a branded hashtag + encourage social sharing at the event! Send guests home with a goody bag, recipe, or promo code to keep your brand on their mind.

Go green - Supply your retailers with branded shopping bags, water bottles, coffee mugs, etc. + offer shoppers a discount when they use them in-store! Your brand will be on display in-store + on the go. Bonus points for rewarding fans that posts photos of themselves with your gear on their social channels.

Focus on reviews - You know how important a great review can be for your brand, so why not take the time to ask for more? Use your email list + provide links to where your customers can leave reviews to make it easy for them. Include a call to action on your receipts asking for feedback. You may want to offer a coupon code or free gift to those that leave you a review!

Give back - Invite the community into your space for a good cause. Team up with the humane society for a pet adoption event, host a food or school supplies drive, if you sell direct, match a day's worth of sales in donations to a good cause. You'll be promoting your brand + giving back before the holiday season even starts!

Find a new holiday - Yes, Halloween + Thanksgiving typically get all the fall holiday glory, but there are a ton of "social holidays" out there you can take advantage of! Here are a few to spark your creativity:

  • September  is Better Breakfast Month and Self Improvement Month
  • September 9, Grandparent's Day
  • September 16, National Women's Friendship Day + Wife Appreciation Day
  • September 21, World Gratitude Day
  • October is National Vegetarian Month + Cookie Month
  • October 5, World Teacher's Day
  • October 9, Fire Prevention Day
  • October 17, National Pasta Day
  • November  is Child Safety Protection Month + National Sleep Comfort Month
  • November 8, Cook Something Bold Day
  • November 13, World Kindness Day
  • November 15, Clean Your Refrigerator Day

Spend now, save later - Encourage shoppers to spend now by giving them a coupon code to use for their holiday shopping after Thanksgiving! End Q3 on a high note while you set the stage for great Q4 sales!

So, what will it be?  How are you planning to set your brand apart this fall? And more importantly, how are you going to use your digital channels to promote it? I can't wait to see how the housewares industry is going to heat up once the temperatures cool down!
